A comfortable stay in a great location (for us).

Breakfast was not provided. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Location was very important for us, and that of Initial did not disappoint. We are returning for a further period on 14 February.

We have stayed in Initial several times before and have noted that the rugs/mats provided are not pretty worn and uninspiring. Suggest that some replacements are required.

What was the highlight of The Initial Residence

Good location and staff, but may not be the best for MRT

Location was good. There was a plaza across the street (Shaw Plaza) which had a Fair Price (Supermarket), Watsons, and several restaurants (Ya Kun Toast, Burger King, Japanese, Chinese, etc). It is also walking distance from two hawker centers (Balestier Market and Whampoa Food Centre), two 7-11s, and several Bak kut teh restaurants (and others) if you wanted to try. The 2 bedroom I booked had enough space for three people and it was good because I didn't hear my dad's snores from the other room :). We enjoyed using the fridge to store our leftovers and drinks for our stay. The staff was helpful in resolving my credit card issue and allowing me to do an early check in (since the previous guest left early).

Like others mentioned, the closest MRT station was 20 minutes away (Novena station). I was planning to use the MRT, but I ended up using Grab (Singapore's Uber) for convenience so it ended up not being an issue for me. However, if you were planning to solely use MRT to get around, this place may not be the best location for that. To note, they had buses nearby so that could be an alternative. The drying machine took a while for our clothes to dry but I'm not sure if it's the machine itself or due to Singapore's humidity. We ended up drying our clothes by the A/C.

overall me and my family had a comfortable stay. grocery and food shops easily accessible.

far from MRT station. Smart TV has no available cable or included cable (but can cast or use DeX from phone though). room rate could have been lower. the dryer in our room can't dry clothes (2 hours of drying still wet).

Very Good

The space and inclusions, cleaning, friendly staff.

It would be great if some sachets of salt, pepper, sugar, tea and coffee were provided in the kitchenette. Frying pan and iron should be included as default instead of on need basis.

What was the highlight of The Initial Residence

Second time and still a great stay.

I liked the location and its convenience to shops/supermarkets, eateries, transport (buses and taxis), public and private hospitals and movie theatres. Although the Novena train station was approximately 20mins walk from the apartment, it was still a good way to keep fit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Travel to the airport was easy with a taxi stand in front of the building. The reception staff were most friendly and the housekeepers were polite.

Overall excellent stay. Will definitely come backagain

Location nearby bus stations, accessible to public transportation and restaurants nearby, approachable, friendly and helpful staffs.

A bit dusty in the room, even after HSK cleaning. Needs some improvement for room cleanliness Maybe can add small frying pan, some wine glass, and drinking glasses perhaps in the unit.
